- What type of homeschooling would you like to do?
- There are many different types of homeschooling methods, I highly recommend doing your research on all the methods and seeing which one fits your family the best.
- What curriculum are you going to use?
- After you figure out your homeschooling teaching method, find a curriculum that matches that style. For example, The Good and The Beautiful is the Charlotte Mason Style and faith based.
- What kind of schedule do you want?
- Year round? Summer off?
- Research your state’s requirement
- Some states have more requirements than others when it comes to reporting progress.
- Find a CoOp or start one up
- There are many CoOps out there, facebook is a good resource to find these groups!
- Create a learning space or don’t?
- Many homeschooling families will create a homeschool/ learning area in a office space or dining room. However, we homeschool anywhere and everywhere. For example, we will learn on a bed, the kitchen table, the floor, outside, the zoo, the park, the library,)
